another day..another run… :) again, the pace was pretty consistent…it tailored off a bit around miles 3 and 4 but i pulled it together at the end…i’m definitely at the point where i can breeze through the initial miles of the run…during my first week back, i definitely had to push to get to miles 3 and 4…now though, i am back up to running 5/6 miles well..

i think right now i am going to focus on consistently running at least 5/6 for a while and occasionally going up to 7 when i feel good…the past couple of days, my pace has been under 9 which is good, but hopefully i will be able to reign that back down to 8 min/mile which is where i was about 3/4 years ago when at all my races i could keep that pace up to the half marathon distance..

after four days off…

so i got back to running today after four days off! :( I went up to berkeley this past weekend for the ucla at cal football game and I wasn’t able to run! (I definitely could have used a run yesterday after driving for more than 7 hours but I got home too late!)

I thought it would be tough to start up again but luckily I was able to pick up where I left off and I had probably my most efficient run so far. Now that I look at my time I find it odd that the average pace is what it is since I didn’t feel I was running that fast. The pace was consistent throughout but it just didn’t feel like my best run.

Anyway, it’s good to be back at it and I’m ready for the upcoming week!

night run!

Today was by far my best run of the past week and a half! It felt good to run well especially after yesterday’s struggle! My blisters were calm throughout most of the run although halfway through they started to bug a little. That went away however and I was able to finish strongly. It was nice running at night especially since it was extremely hot today! The cool air really helped facilitate such a good run and I feel refreshed and ready for tomorrow! I have to take the GRE at 12:30 so hopefully I can sneak in a run in the morning to relax and be ready for the test! :)
